Deryc is a PhD candidate scheduled to defend his dissertation, "Computational Interdisciplinarity: a study in the History of Science", over the summer of 2019. His research focuses on interdisciplinary collaborations and innovation at varying scales in academia. He currently has a publication with Bryan Daniels and Juergen Jost coming out soon in a special Focus edition in the journal ISIS titled "Network Analysis for the Digital Humanities:principles, problems, extensions". He is also publishing an article about collective computation and innovation with Bryan Daniels and Manfred Laubichler in a special edition of Theory in Biosciences titled "Innovations are Disproportionately Likely in the Periphery of a Scientific Network". Lastly, Deryc and Manfred have recently completed a chapter in The Dynamic of Science: Computational Frontiers in History and Philosophy of Science titled "Evolution of Evolutionary Medicine" about the genesis and growth of the field evolutionary medicine from a computational perspective.
